Em Palestra no IDOR, Todd Woodward falou sobre como evidenciar circuitos cerebrais alterados através de RMl
Quinta-Feira passada, Todd Woodward falou do uso da ressonância magnética funcional como método alternativo para modelar e ler a atividade cerebral. No caso, o objetivo era a investigação das redes neurais durante tarefas cognitivas.
O palestrante mostrou alguns exemplos de como o cérebro, em rede, responde diante de tarefas de memória, linguagem e atenção, por exemplo. Ao fim da palestra, Woodward apresentou exemplos de como essas redes cerebrais possuem funcionamento específico em pacientes que sofrem de transtornos psiquiátricos, como a esquizofrenia, que foi tema de seus estudos prévios.
Todd Woodward é professor do Departamento de Psiquiatria e diretor do Cognitive Neuroscience of Schizophrenia (CNoS) Laboratory da Universidade de British Columbia.
